CFD Extension in IDA ICE - Online Course
CFD Extension in IDA ICE
March 3-4, 2026
Following the release of the CFD extension in autumn, EQUA is pleased to organise this hands-on CFD course again in spring 2026. The course is designed to give participants a solid understanding of applied Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in building physics using IDA ICE, with a strong focus on practical learning through demonstrations, exercises, and experimentation.
The course emphasises learning by exploring different setups, testing inputs, analysing results, and discussing modelling choices in an open and interactive environment. Group size is limited to 10 participants to ensure a personalised and engaging learning experience. After completing the course, participants will be able to confidently set up, run, and analyse CFD simulations in IDA ICE to support indoor climate and comfort design.
Course Content
- Introduction to the IDA ICE CFD extension
- Short CFD theory and background for building applications
- Understanding the CFD interface and workflow
- Setting up CFD models for different phenomena and configurations
