Software installation

1. For all hands-on sessions, we will use IDA ICE 5.1.1.beta6. Make sure you install it into a separate folder (not the one that will be proposed).
   • To install it on the same computer as a commercial license of IDA ICE 5.1, please use this version.
   • To install it with a temporary key, please use this version. Use the following temporary key to activate CFD and localizations:
     ICE51XLF:25APR-EG.U4VL2S347
2. For the localization sessions, please install the corresponding localization, after you have installed IDA ICE 5.1.1.beta6.
   • Localization Switzerland
   • Localization Germany
   • VDI extension (in addition to the licalization Germany)
3. To ensure a smooth and productive CFD session, we kindly ask all participants to install the required extension before the event. The installation process involves a few additional steps that may vary depending on your system configuration, so completing this in advance will help avoid delays during the session.
   • Install the extension with this version.
   • Follow these instructions.

If you encounter any issues during installation, Niklas Wikström, the developer of the extension, will be available for one-to-one meetings on Friday and Monday prior to the event. 4. If you are planning to participate in the IFC session, the first part of the exercise will include how to export high quality IFC-files from Revit and/or ArchiCAD. To follow this, it is recommended to have Revit 2025 or ArchiCAD 28 installed on your computer. If you already have a license, you can use this and if not, both Revit and ArchiCAD can be downloaded as trial licenses with the option to run the software in demo mode after the trial period expires. If you do not want (or can) install Revit and/or ArchiCAD we will provide IFC files so you will be able to take part in the rest of the exercise.

5. For the Daylight, IFC and the PV session, you will also get an oven-fresh IDA ICE 5.2.alpha. This version will be ready for download here, but only at the Poweruser Day2, Thursday 3^rd April 2025.
