Validation of simulation software is important in order to ensure quality. Tests are normally performed to ascertain that the computational models of the software give acceptable values compared to either measured data or compared to other software, but also in order to avoid bugs.

IDA Viewer 

The IDA Viewer is a free tool that effectively allows you to examine project details, such as input data, 3D models and results, including 3D animations.

Use the viewer to share copy protected project files with your customers, allowing them to view and examine simulation results on their own. Or let architects check whether their IFC models can be successfully imported1 to IDA ICE.

You can also use IDA Viewer to present results at customer meetings whenever you don't have the possibility to bring your full IDA ICE license.

Lokalisaation

 

IDA ICE 5.0 Viron lokalisaation avulla pääosa Viron energiamääräysten mukaisista energiatodistuksen sisäänsyöttötiedoista ja energiatodistuslaskennan tuloksista täytetään automaattisesti IDA ICE 5.0 Excel raporttiin. Tämän jälkeen loput tarvittavat tiedot on helposti täytettävissä käsin raporttiin. Lokalisaation raportointi perustuu Viron energiamääräyksiin. Raportin sisältyy kaikkien energiamuotojen käsittely, myös uusiutuvien energialähteiden käsittely.

 

Viron lokalisaation tärkeimmät kohdat:

  • Tyypilliset vaipan rakenteet tyypillisillä U-arvoilla
  • Monipuolinen rakennusmateriaalien resurssitietokanta käytettävissä erityyppisten rakenteiden luomiseen.
  • Tyypilliset Viron lokalisaatioon liittyvät paikkakunta- ja säätiedot.
  • Ulosmyytävän energian laskenta ja raportointi päivitetty Viroon lokalisoidusti RES-direktiivin mukaiseksi, mutta tämä laskenta ei sisälly itse ET arvon laskentaan.
  • Toinen energiatehokkuuden tunnusluku ET B lasketaan ilman paikallista uusiutuvan sähköenergian tuotantoa.
  • Viron energiamääräysten mukaisesti:
    • Rakennustyyppien mallit § 6 “Kasutusajad ja vabasoojus“
    • Profiilit taulukoista 2, 3 and 4.
    • Vyöhykkeiden mallit taulukoista 2-4.
    • Lämpimän veden käyttö § 7 “Sooja vee tarbimine“.
    • Rakennusvaipan vuoto § 9 “Hoone välispiirde õhuleke“.
    • Kesäajan sisälämpötilojen vaatimuksenmukaisuuden osoittamisen astetuntien laskenta Viron määräysten mukaisesti.
    • Ostoenergian mittaroinnin määräysten mukaiset energiamuotojen kertoimet.
    • Ikkunatuuletuksen IDA ICE makro, jota voidaan käyttää asuinrakennuksissa Viron määräysten mukaisissa kesäajan sisälämpötilojen astetuntilaskennassa.
    • Excel raportti, jolla saadaan raportoitua Viron energiamääräysten mukaiset energiatodistuksen sisäänsyöttötiedot ja energiatodistuslaskennan tulokset suoraan IDA ICE 5.0 ohjelmasta.

IDA ICE oletuskieli on englanti ja ohjelmaan sisältyy yli 2 000 paikkakuntaa ja yli 3000 säätiedostoa maailmanlaajuisesti.

 Standard vs. Expert

IDA ICE is available in two different editions - Standard and Expert edition. The Standard edition is targeted to the novice and intermediate users, while the Expert edition is targeted to the more advanced building simulation professional.


Below are the main differences between the Standard and Expert editions.

IDA ICE can be extended with extension packages. The Standard edition includes no extension packages by default, while the Expert edition includes the following two extension packages:

With the Expert edition, you can edit the automatically created schematic display of a simulation model (including systems). Using a large library of available components, you can also build your own air handling units, plants and control systems.

The Expert edition includes a version handling system – a productivity tool allowing you to keep track of changes between model versions and also to automatically rerun all cases that depend on a change. 

 


 

leaf Parallelization

With the Expert edition, you can take advantage of the fact that almost all new computers are equipped with multiple processor cores and are able to run several processes in parallel:

  • The simulation can be split into several shorter time segments which are simulated in parallel.
  • All cases that are presently open in the session can be simulated in parallel on several processes. This is a simple and efficient way to run a batch of cases.
  • Different versions are simulated in parallel on several processes (using the version handling system).
  • The Radiance™ daylight calculation
  • Start additional IDA ICE sessions from the file menu. In this way you can work on several sessions in parallel, both during modeling and during simulation.

 



leafAdvanced component models

The Expert edition includes additional component models, such as a climate zone model with air stratification based on flow elements (jets, plumes and wall currents), building-integrated PV-systems, finite-difference underground duct model with wall condensation, passage opening control model, and phase change materials.

The Expert edition includes additional features, not available in the Standard edition, such as a full scripting language, case comparison functions, model difference listings, model searching, the Outline view, editable GUI forms and more.

 


  

leaf Development level

With the Expert edition, you get access to the IDA Simulation Environment. This allows you to write additional component models using the equation based Neutral Model Format. There is no need to be an expert in numerical methods; the equations are automatically solved for you.
