CFD in IDA ICE

CFD in IDA ICE

A highly anticipated course organised by EQUA! We aim to give the participants an overall understanding of applied computational fluid dynamics in building physics through focused explanation, exercises, and active course participation. Course is limited to 10 participants for a more personalized experience.

The CFD course will include:

• Extended functions of CFD in IDA ICE
• Understanding the CFD interface
• CFD visulization

After course completion, the user should be able to produce reliable room models to study and evaluate thermal comfort, in addition to improve their indoor environment quality design skillset.

The course will cover the following subjects and topics: 

• Fluid dynamics theoretical background
• Real time room modeling and discussion
• Several room types and loads
• User case examples
• CFD calculations
• Result presentation
• External, large-case visualization possibly using ParaView
• Live user practices
• Q&A
