LEED-based energy modeling

EQUA has developed an add-on module to IDA ICE that simplifies energy modeling according to the Building Performance Rating Method. The method, which is defined in ASHRAE 90.1-2010, appendix G, is used e.g. in LEED projects and means that the actual (proposed) building is compared with a US building code-based reference (baseline) building. In the course, we go through the module's functions and features, and also we model a few different types of projects and systems.

Part 1: ASHRAE 90.1 2016 Appendix G, IDA ICE ASHRAE 90.1-addon and exercises

Part 2: Hands-on project submission demo (input output summary): Work in a team and create the input/output summary for a demo project (one of the required deliverables while submitting a LEED project)

Part 3: Hands-on project submission demo (Minimum energy performance calculator): Work in a team and fill in the Minimum energy performance calculator for a demo project (one of the required deliverables while submitting a LEED project)

About the presenter

Samer Hassanie has been working for EQUA since 2018. He has a Bachelor of Science degree and holds a Technical Licentiate in HVAC Technology. Before EQUA, Samer has worked for Sweco as energy consultant. At EQUA, Samer divides his time between training, support and testing of IDA ICE, as well as consulting work in simulation
